The JIMS valve lifter holding tool is a clever accessory that keeps the hydraulic valve lifters in the raised position during work on the Harley-Davidson Twin Cam 1999-2017, Sportster XL 2000-2020 and Buell (except 1125R) valve trains.
When removing cylinder heads, replacing pushrods, or performing valve train operations, the hydraulic valve lifters can drop back into their housing, which greatly complicates reassembly and requires bleeding the valve lifters. This JIMS tool holds the valve lifters in the raised position, preventing these complications and ensuring quick, bleed-free reassembly.
